Special Newsletter – Brazil: general strike and Operation Car Wash (Lava Jato) leaks

Brazil’s turbulent political scenario was impacted in recent days by two events: the General Strike against the Pension Reform and the leaks of compromising conversations between then Judge Sérgio Moro and Lava-Jato prosecutors that demonstrate the partiality of the actions of the Paraná Judiciary. This edition of the Left on the Move Newsletter deals with the two facts in a text by Bruno Magalhães (militant and leader of the Socialist Left Movement), in the records of the participation of public figures from the PSOL and the youth movement Juntos! in the General Strike and in an interview with federal deputy David Miranda (husband of Glenn Greenwald, the prestigious journalist who published the Car Wash leaks) on the UOL portal about the threats his family has been receiving and about the proposal for a parliamentary investigation into the “unrepublican attitudes of the still Minister of Justice, Sergio Moro”. In addition, we publish the note of the Socialist Left Movement on the revelations by the Intercept site.

An excellent reading to all!

THE INTERCEPT LEAKS PROVE: MORO WAS ACTING ILLEGALLY EVEN BEFORE HE WAS IN GOVERNMENT | Movimento Esquerda Socialista (Socialist Left Movement)

The Intercept disclosures show compelling new evidence of the combined and illegal action between prosecutors and Judge Sérgio Moro, who showed once again that he did not act as a judge but as an investigator and chief prosecutor.

“A COMMISSION OF ENQUIRY MUST FOCUS ON MORO AND DALLAGNOL”, SAYS DEPUTY DAVID MIRANDA | UOL

One of the founders of The Intercept Brazil headquarters and now a federal deputy, David Miranda (PSOL-RJ) argues that a possible Commission of Inquiry to investigate Operation Lava Jato should not be generalized, but limited to Minister Sergio Moro and Lava Jato coordinator Deltan Dallagnol.
