The recent plan presented by Donald Trump as a response to the Palestinian conflict is the latest demonstration of the arbitrariness of US imperialism towards the Palestinian people. In full agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, who was recently indicted for corruption, the so-called “Middle East Peace Plan” is part of the Zionist agenda of imperialism against the rights of the Palestinian population, aiming to deepen the apartheid regime currently installed in Palestinian territory.

The “pact of the century”, as announced, was supposedly formulated by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, the plan is actually the materialization of the extremist positions of the Zionist right that seeks to annex the illegally occupied territories in the West Bank and shred the territory controlled by the Palestinian Authority in the region. With no Palestinian participation in its construction, the pact has been endorsed by U.S. puppet states in the Arab world, such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, representing yet another odious attempt by Palestinians and Palestinians to submit to the State of Israel, a pro-Western Zionist military enclave that violates numerous international laws by occupying and expanding settlements beyond the territories it controls legally.

The Trump plan maintains its policy of defending Jerusalem as the indivisible capital of the State of Israel and determines the annexation of the Jordan River valley to the country, clearly defending the expansion of the territory controlled by the Zionists over the West Bank and the maintenance of the colonies maintained by Israel in territory recognized as Palestinian, including by international law. In this way, in addition to further disfiguring the densely populated territories occupied by Palestinians, the plan opens space for the deepening of the exploitation of Palestinian labor from the permanence of Jewish settlements militarized and notable by racism against the Arab population.

This movement, which exacerbates violence in the region and demands a response from anti-imperialist militancy, even throws to the ground the unfeasible “two-state solution” defended by imperialism since the Oslo Accords as a palliative way to reduce the levels of Palestinian resistance and places a new emphasis on military occupation and on the violence of the settlers against the population confined in the small spaces still controlled by the Palestinians. The resemblance to the supposedly independent territories (the notorious “bantustões”) in South Africa during the apartheid regime is evident, even if Zionist entities seek to identify any criticism of Israel’s genocidal state as anti-Semitism.

Moreover, this plan is also part of the US dispute for world hegemony through the spread of authoritarianism reflected in the support for governments such as Netanyahu, like Bolsonaro in Brazil, Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines, among other examples. The innumerable attempts to attack and demoralize the Palestinian struggle, always defeated, also represent an important symbol of the strength of US imperialism in the region and its mechanisms of domination through simultaneous support for the innumerable dictatorial Arab monarchies in the region.

Against this absurd movement by the extreme right-wing governments of Trump and Netanyahu it is necessary to declare all support for the struggle of the Palestinian people and their resistance against the imperialist invaders. Our solidarity with Palestine is permanent, defending a secular and plurinational sovereign state in which all the resident populations of historic Palestine, such as Arabs, Jews and Druze, can live together in peace from premises such as popular democracy and the right of return of the hundreds of thousands of refugees generated by Nakba (“catastrophe” in Arabic, as the Palestinians consider the foundation of Israel).
